ajor Victory was originally named Vance Astrovik. Vance
Astrovik was so consumed by his interest in outer space that he decided
to formally change his name to Astro, as it reflected his ambition to
become an astronaut.

Major Victory from Guardians of the Galaxy
Major Victory from Guardians of the Galaxy

That ambition was fulfilled after Astro reached the rank of Major within the US Air Force.
He volunteered to be an astronaut on the interstellar mission to Alpha Centuri, after being placed in suspended animation.

He
took so long to get there that Earth had already managed to settle the
area centuries before. Spending so long in stasis had also harmed his
metabolism, meaning that he could not survive without his suit on.

Although
there was no need for him to complete his mission, he still researched
the Centaurians. However that research ended as the alien Badoon
destroyed the population. Only he and the Centaurian called Yondu survived the attacks.

Astro
discovered that he could kill by unleashing brain waves of kinetic
power around this time. He and Yondu then found the Guardians of the
Galaxy and joined the fight to remove the Badoon from both the Solar and
Centuri.

Quest For The Shield

Vance
decided that locating the shield of his hero, Captain America would
prove to be useful in defeating the Badoon. The Guardians assist him in
the quest for the shield, using the Book of Antag as a guide. During the
search they run into The Stark and fight him.

During
that fight, The Stark damages Vance’s suit and he begins to age
rapidly. Martinex and Charlie 27 work together to make him a cast that
protects from aging any further and allows him to use his right arm.

The
group soon find out where the shield, and are also sent to fight an
evil Force, by Main Frame, which is a sentient computer. Their leader,
Interface ends up fighting Vance, and seems to have the upper hand.

Interface
beats Vance for control of the shield yet discards it as he cannot use
it. Vance is in danger as Interface has taken off the cast.

He is
saved by grabbing the shield. It gives him powers as he is good. Vance
tells Interface that the shield has accepted him as the true successor
of Captain America.

After that right a new suit was made for him to enable him to keep functioning.

What You Don’t Know About Drax the Destroyer

he Drax that you see in the canon Marvel Comics Universe isn’t the same one that you see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In
the movie Guardians of the Galaxy he’s known as a primitive unknown
species in a tribe that can’t understand metaphorical statements.

After being recognised as a good guy he joins Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Groot, and many other heroes.

They
call this group the Guardians of the Galaxy, known for their amazing
abilities and bond that stays strong in any dangerous situation.

First Appearance

The first time Drax  appeared in Marvel Comics was alongside Thanos. He finds Ironman and tells him that his main mission in life is to defeat the Mad Titan.

Drax
goes into detail about how the entity of the cosmos Kosmos replied to
Mentor’s plea for assistance in taking down his son Thanos.

Kronos
agreed to help and zapped an area of Titanian dirt to combine it with
with Arthur Douglas’ soul. Arthur Douglas was killed earlier by Thanos
and is now what makes Drax who he is.

With the help of Ironman,
Drax goes and defeats Thanos’ lackeys named the the Blood Brothers. They
continue on to fight who they thought was Thanos only to realize that
it was a fake robot replica.

Arthur Douglas

Arthur
Douglas is a married real estate agent that lives in Los Vegas. He was
taking his wife Yvette and two kids to Los Angeles one day when
something happened in the Mojave desert.

Thanos was
on a surveillance mission and was passing across the desert when he saw
Arthur’s car. Thanos didn’t want anyone to know he was on Earth so he
took a detour and destroyed their car and went on his way.

Thanos’
dad Mentor was watching his every move and saw what he had done to
Arthur’s car. Mentor went and discovered that one of Arthur’s daughters,
Heather, survived the incident.
Mentor took Heather to raise her on Titan and she returns to Earth later as Moondragon.

After seeing what what his son was doing, Mentor wanted to make something powerful enough to stop him.

Mentor remembers that his dad Kronos was once one of the most ruthless beings in the universe and goes to ask for his help.

Together they take the conscious life force energy of Arthur before it disappeared from his dead body.

Kronos And Mentor

Mentor and Kronos took some soil from Earth and made a human body from it. From there they infused it with super powers and Douglas’ soul making the new being who would be known as Drax the Destroyer.

Mentor
removed all of Drax’s memories of when he was Arthur Douglas and filled
that will a loathing for Thanos instead. Drax the Destroyer then spends
years of his life trying to stop Thanos but can only manage to thwart
his plans.

It was during this time that he meets Ironman countless
of times. Drax had a chance to defeat Thanos when he was trying to stop
the Titan from getting the Cosmic Cube. But Drax lost and went to the
Avengers to ask for help.

Drax heads back to Thanos with Moondragon, Captain Marvel, and the Avengers and defeats him before he could get the Cosmic Cube.

After Thanos died, Drax became depressed from not having a purpose anymore and went to wander space.

A couple of months pass and Drax was destroying a planet when he sees Captain Marvel.
Drax
goes to take out all of his anger out on Captain Marvel for killing
Thanos instead of him. He stops when Rick Jones pops up in his head to
tell him that Thanos has been revived.

What You Don’t Know About Drax the Destroyer

Who is Moondragon in Guardians of the Galaxy?

Moondragon has had a long and storied career. She is a
powerful telepath and telekinetic. She is also the daughter of Arthur
Douglas, now known as the hero Drax.

She once owned
the Mind Gem, which is one of the six Infinity Gems. Even though
Moondragon is known for being a loner, she has frequently been part of
super hero teams.

Infinity Watch

Moondragon joined the Infinity Watch alongside other powerful heroes who were each designated an Infinity Gem to guard.

Other members of the Watch include: Drax the Destroyer, Pip the Troll, Gamora, Maxam, Thanos and Adam Warlock.

One
of Moondragon’s first assignments after joining the Infinity Watch was
guarding the Mind Gem. This powerful gem boosted her already formidable
mental capabilities.

She went out to test those abilities after the group members went off in separate directions.
She
soon encountered the Silver Surfer, and sought to help him find his
home planet of Zenn-La. The planet had been taken by the entity known as
the Great One.

The powerful being put Zenn-La and several other
massive planets in his mind. Moondragon used her mental powers to
persuade the Great One to release all of the planets he had captured.

The
members of the Infinity Watch finally agreed to work together after the
Man Beast tried to pit the team members against one another.

This
cooperation was later broken up by the Goddess, who gathered heroes
from around the universe via mind control in an attempt to join her
cause during the Infinity Crusade.

The
Goddess appointed Moondragon to High Priestess of the Holy Guard.
Moondragon was later freed of the Goddess’ control and was upset at the
concept of being manipulated and controlled by another being.

Who is Jack Flag from Guardians of the Galaxy

Jack Harrison alongside his brother Drake are computer experts that work as part of Captain America’s network. They set up citizen patrols in Sandhaven, in Arizona. During one patrol they were attacked, which resulted in Drake losing the use of his legs.

Jack Flag
Jack Flag from Guardians of the Galaxy

The
Serpent Society were trying to take over Sandhaven, Jack and Drake told
the local authorities about it. However the authorities decided not to
act as they seemed to have all been paid off by the society.

Jack
reinvents himself as Jack Flag, a hero to fight the Serpent Society. To
get into shape Jack lifted weights, and taught himself martial arts.
Jack was strong before he started training yet wanted to be stronger to
take on the Serpent Society.

Power And Abilities

All
the training and weight lifting makes Jack even stronger than before.
He is strong enough to lift around 10 tons as a result of accidentally
gaining extra power.

Hyde-like abilities:
Jack is able to change, like Jakyl and Hyde. He was inadvertently sprayed by Calvin Zabo.

Superstrength:
The
Hyde spray of Calvin Zabo gave Jack Flag enough extra strength to be
able to lift 10 tons. It means that he is a good recruit for either the
Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Extra stamina:
The spray had the consequence that Jack can exert himself for several hours before becoming exhausted or being harmed by toxins.

Extra endurance:
The
Hyde spray means that Jack can survive and absorb more trauma and
impact than the average person. Jack can survive severe blows yet he
could be killed by bullets or sharp blades. He can sustain more damage
but he is not immortal.

Enhanced healing:
His
altered metabolism always Jack to recover from injury sooner than other
people can. He recovers from scratches or bruises within a couple of
hours, or from broken limps in one or two days.

The full extent of
his ability to regenerate is not known, though he did not recover from
an ear injury by himself, and probably got treatment for it after he had
a back injury.

All in all these powers mean that Jack could fight for longer and survive more punishment.

Meet Cosmo The Spacedog

Cosmo the Spacedog is a member of the Guardians of the
Galaxy and is in charge of the Knowhere space station as the security
chief.

Cosmo is an incredibly gifted Russian telepathic dog who found his way into deep space following a mission launched from Earth.

Meet Cosmo The Spacedog

Cosmo the Spacedog was featured in volume 4 #7 of Nova and conceived
by Andy Lanning and Dan Annette. He continues to be featured in
Guardians of the Galaxy stories.
Cosmo makes a cameo appearance in
the Guardians of the Galaxy movie where he can be found in the
Collector’s museum exhibit and also at a post credit scene licking the
collector

Powers And Abilities

One of Cosmo’s
main abilities is telekinesis. He can move things with his mind and is
extremely accurate with it. Along with that he can also control other
animals or people’s minds and know what they’re thinking about.

With
his telepathic powers Cosmo can do a variety of different things. For
defense Cosmo can hide his presence and powers from other psions or
psychics.

The power works on anyone he wants to but can be sensed
by more powerful beings than him. He can create a psychic shield to
protect anybody around him too.

The telepathic illusion skill he has makes intricate illusions and can make people hallucinate for a short period of time.

Using
his telepathic camouflage ability he can change the way people perceive
things. Doing this allows Cosmo The Spacedog to change how him and his
friends look to other people and can even make himself invisible.

The mental paralysis ability can make anyone immobile physically and mentally.

This
power is so strong that he made an evil version of the Hulk pass out by
just going into his mind. This also allows him to cause amnesia or wipe
out any awareness of certain memories.

The mental sedation ability lets Cosmo render his opponents useless for as long as he is constantly using the ability.

He
combines this with his Psionic blast to do serious mental damage. The
psionic waves can’t harm anyone physically and is used to put people to
sleep or change how their brain works.

Cosmo can also detect
people that are near him by sensing their brainwaves with his mental
detection. Unlike other dogs, his extended longevity lets him live way
longer than any other animal.

Annihilation: Conquest story arc.

This team included Star-Lord, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, Phyla-Vell, Drax the Destroyer, and Adam Warlock.

Who Is Adam Warlock in Marvel Comics?

Adam Warlock was the creation of a team of researchers known
as The Beehive. They created this super being in an attempt to design
the ultimate human being of the future. When first created, the new
being was only known as “Him”.

Thankfully for the people of Earth, Warlock soon realised that the
members of the Beehive had intended to use his special powers to commit
evil deeds. Instead of doing their bidding, he decided to escape from
their complex, and hurt several of his creators in the process.

Warlock, had no life experience and after running into Thor and the Lady Sif, he attempted to kidnap the latter.

Thor
stopped him in his tracks, Warlock was barely alive after Thor left the
scene. However, he managed to find his way into a regeneration cocoon,
from where he emerges at a later date.

Warlock First Appearance

Adam
Warlock made his very first comic appearance during Fantastic Four
#66-67 (published in 1967). These stories were drawn by Jack Kirby and
the script was written by Stan Lee.

In just 20 issues of Fantastic
Four, Kirby not only came up with Adam Warlock, he also created Black
Panther, the Inhumans, Galactus and the Silver Surfer.

Throughout
those early issues Warlock was simply known as “Him”. He had completely
destroyed the Beehive by that point, and it was not made clear whether
or not he had survived the destruction of the Beehive.

He returned briefly in the pages of Thor, still without a name.

Jim
Starlin was responsible for giving him a name for the story, Power of
the Warlock. It was during his solo adventures that Warlock joined up
with the all powerful Soul Gem and went on to become the sworn adversary
of the demented Titan, Thanos.

The Soul Gem is what he used in Marvel Cinematic Universe to bring Vision to life.

Who Is Bug The Micronaut from Guardians of the Galaxy?

Bug the Micronaut wasn’t a key member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, but he was fun to have on the team.

He
was added to the team after a minor team shakeup during writer Dan
Abnett’s run. Rocket brought in new members, including Bug, when other
Guardians went their separate ways.

Bug The Micronaut

Bug In Marvel Comics

Even though he doesn’t bring a lot to the table, Bug has been known to lighten the mood.
His
comedic humor could be just what the third Guardians movie needs, after
the second movie ended with Groot returning to his normal size and
Rocket experiencing a bit of a setback.

Bug And The Microverse

Bug
first appeared in 1979’s debut issue of the Micronauts. He was from the
planet of Kalikak in the Microverse. Known as both a thief and
comedian, he was always a professional in action.

He formed a lasting friendship with his teammate Acroyear, despite their vastly different personalities.

In
fact, Acroyear’s friendship with Bug may have been one of the main
reasons why he started to question the cold, calculating warrior ethic
that dominated his people.

In the first issue we find
Acroyear and Bug in the Yard of the Gladiators along with other
political prisoners. They were gathered there by the evil Baron Karza’s
soldiers to practice for gladatorial games.

The duo then met
Arcturus Rann when they were assembled in the gladiator colosseum. There
they encountered a pulse-firing death tank.

While Acroyear
attacked the tank’s wheels, Bug courageously vaulted up on top of the
death tank and lobbed a packet bomb into its eye slits.

Bug,
Acroyear and Rann escaped in a getaway vehicle piloted by Marionette,
another political prisoner. The quartet joined forces with robots
Microtron and Biotron as they escape Homeworld in a starship. Biotron
piloted their craft around the edges of the Microverse.

Their ship, the HMS Endeavor, made its way to Earth. There, they found themselves in the backyard of an average American home.

They
soon learned how much larger things are on Earth. Shortly after they
left their ship, they met a puppy that Microtron attacked. They also
encountered a manual lawn mower that runs over Acroyear and Bug.
